This unit is designed to help students develop their writing skills in an open and interesting environment. Students will learn through individual, pair and group work how to become a more successful writer. Students will be introduced to different text types and they will develop strategies for thinking, analysing and writing in different styles. Students will be exposed to both critical thinking and personal reflection about how writers construct texts including visual, written and electronic texts. Students will develop their knowledge and understanding of how language works and use this to construct engaging writing for different audiences and purposes. They will engage with the drafting and editing process to become skilled writers in both expository and persuasive styles.
