Avril has worked for thirty-five years in the Education sector, internationally and in Australia (35 years). For the past 10 years, Avril has been a School Principal. Her extensive teaching and leadership experience in government and nongovernment schools has allowed her to lead multi campus schools. Her husband and her founded an Indigenous primary school in Weipa (QLD) and successful opened the school at the start of this year. Avril is the Chair of Kluthuthu Christian College and has extensive governance experience. Avril held a State Councillor VIC/TAS role at Christian Schools Australia is currently on the board of the Christian Schools Events Network (CSEN) Avril attended Harvard Graduate School of Education and participated in the Future of Learning Institute. She has had three books published and has contributed a chapter to a book on education, published by Routledge.
Avril is married to Mark, has three children Kelly, Ross and David, two of which work in education and one in business.
