  • Available to domestic students.

Bring your belief in the benefits of quality education and your genuine care for children together as you pursue this early childhood educator qualification.

In Victoria, new funding from 2022 gives all children access to two years of education before school, with 6,000 new teaching jobs being created.

Early childhood educators give children a great start in life.

You have completed your Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care, and possibly had some industry experience. Now you wish to build on this foundation and learn more in this field and have the opportunity to seek more responsibility in the workplace. The CHC50121 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care is the next step for you!

Successfully completing the Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care gives a greater understanding of curriculum development and team leadership. Theory is balanced with a minimum of 280 practical hours in work placement.

This Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care course will be delivered in a blended format. It is assumed most students will already be in the workforce and therefore prefer a predominantly online course as it doesn’t disrupt their work commitments.  Online classes can be prerecorded or live. Live online classes allow for classroom participation and opportunity for interaction between trainer and students and amongst students. The main benefit of doing online study is the ability to do it in your own time and is therefore more desirable for students requiring this flexibility, especially those working full time or have young children.
