MEET Roland
Until 2020 Roland was responsible for facilitating the Middle East/North Africa and sub-Saharan Africa cohorts of the Masters in Transformational Development, with which he now acts in an honorary, advisory capacity.
After nine years working in academic and government settings in Papua New Guinea, Roland took up an agriculturalist position with the United Church in the Western Solomons, serving “the whole person in their society”. Here was born his passion for holistic community transformation.
Roland inaugurated the Development Office of the Anglican Diocese of Ruaha, Tanzania; more recently he has lectured in Development Studies at All Nations College, UK.
Roland and his PNG wife Tandy have settled in Brisbane, from where they continue their involvement in setting up the Advanced Diploma in Community Transformation at the Christian Leaders’ Training College of PNG. They are blessed with three daughters, and their three grandchildren keep them fit and alive.
