I am an experienced educator, teacher librarian, academic integrity specialist and tertiary lecturer with a career spanning primary, secondary, senior secondary and tertiary educational settings. My professional work has consistently focused on literacy, research capability, information fluency, academic integrity and the development of learning environments that support students to become independent, ethical and reflective learners.
My academic background includes a Master of Education from the University of Melbourne, completed by major research thesis on the factors influencing upper-primary students’ book choices and the implications for teachers’ literacy programs. I also hold a Bachelor of Education (Primary), a Diploma of Teaching (Primary), a Graduate Diploma in Librarianship, a Bachelor of Ministry focusing on biblical studies. This interdisciplinary foundation has shaped my approach to teaching, learning, pastoral care, literacy education, curriculum development and scholarly practice.
Across my career, I have held roles as a teacher librarian, classroom teacher, literacy teacher, English as an Additional Language teacher, lecturer, regional project officer in Drug Education and academic integrity teacher. At a specialized senior secondary, I supported students undertaking pre-tertiary study by teaching academic integrity strategies and research and information literacy skills aligned with The Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR). I also led a team of teachers in
developing the college’s Authenticity and Academic Integrity Policy in accordance with relevant quality assurance standards.
At a tertiary level, I have lectured at Tabor College Tasmania in Chaplaincy Theory and Practice, Pastoral Care, Biblical Studies and Discovering the Scriptures. My teaching integrates academic rigor, applied professional learning and reflective practice, informed by sustained professional development in learning and teaching, online pedagogy, formative assessment and future-focused education.
