The aim for best practice in Sustainability skills is replicable within education settings to integrate knowledge and strategies to create future-minded educators and students to use learned skills in for a life of practical leadership, personal ethos, and employment support in the focus of improved sustainability practices. Promoting researched practices, existing websites, data and activities, this presentation will encourage alignment of global highlights with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that support both ‘People and Planet’ (United Nations, 2015) through socialising achievable practices to impact industry and personal lives.
“Sustainability is not just a trend; it’s a vital consideration for any business” (Sustainable Australia Fund, 2023). This presentation will introduce UNESCO’s Education for Sustainable Development which exists to empower students with the knowledge, skills, values, attitudes and behaviours to develop quality habits to support the environment, economy, and their society. Coupled with the integration of The UN’s flagship campaign ActNow, designed to inspire action for the Sustainable Development Goals, educators can hear first hand experiences and replicable school-ready ideas to return to schools and make a difference.
