Career Teachers' Network

I don't care.   I don't know what I want to do.   I hate school.   You don't even know me.   I don't need another adult telling me what to do.   You don't know what's best for me.   Why should you care?   I don't want to do anything next year.   I need a break.   You don't understand.

The world can seem like a daunting place for young people and we acknowledge that the role of a career teacher can be difficult as you strive to support your students in making good decisions but they respond with answers similar to the ones above. With over 15 years working with young people Aaron Garth, Executive Director of Ultimate Youth Worker, has extensive experience and knows how to encourage young people and those who work with them that the world isn't as scary as the news makes it out.

On Friday, August the 9th, 1:30pm-4:00pm we invite you to come meet other career teachers for a lovely afternoon tea and to hear Aaron share from his wealth of knowledge around these areas:
- Gap years and understanding the soul (Why students need to continue to study, but not necessarily through a degree)
- How to deal with apathy
- Handling student disengagement from education
- Family support and the career choice
- Communicating with tough students

WHEN: Friday August 9th, 1:30pm-4:00pm

WHERE: 5 Burwood Hwy, Wantirna, VIC

COST: Free
